DAY 1-2 Arrival in Muscat A relaxed start to your journey through the Orient

Your adventure begins with a flight to Muscat, from the airport and with the airline that suits you best. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by Oman’s warm climate and laid-back rhythm. After checking in at your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to relax. Whether by the pool, on a stroll through the area, or simply at your own pace. DAY 3-4 From Muscat to the mountains Exploring Muscat & Jebel Shams

Your journey begins in the capital with visits to some of Muscat’s most iconic sights: the majestic Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the architectural gem of the Royal Opera House, and the lively Muttrah Corniche, where souqs, coastal forts, and museums bring the city’s maritime heritage to life. The next day, you leave the coast and drive inland through the fertile Batinah plain. You’ll stop at the impressive Nakhal Fort and the historic fortress of Rustaq. Then it’s up into the mountains to Jebel Shams, the highest point in Oman where fresh mountain air and breathtaking canyon views await. Overnight stay in the mountains.

DAY 5-6 Canyons, mud villages and fortresses Balcony Walk, Al Hamra and Bahla Fort

Your day begins high up in the mountains of Jebel Shams with a spectacular hike along the Balcony Walk (W6) – a narrow trail offering breathtaking views into the “Grand Canyon of Arabia,” ending at an abandoned mountain village. After descending, visit the mud-brick houses of Al Hamra and the lush terrace gardens of Misfat al Abriyyin, where traditional falaj irrigation channels nourish date and banana plantations. The next day, explore the impressive Bahla Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the beautifully restored Jabreen Castle with its intricately painted wooden ceilings.
