Day Program
You're leaving Europe behind and heading for the magic of the Middle East. Use the flight to relax, get excited, or go over your itinerary one last time. Welcome to your personal journey of discovery.
After arriving in Muscat and transferring to your hotel, take time to unwind and recover from the journey. If you feel like it, go for a first stroll or simply enjoy the comfort of your hotel. A peaceful start to ease into the spirit of Oman.
Today you'll discover Muscat's cultural highlights: the majestic Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the refined Royal Opera House, and the lively buzz of Muttrah Souq. Feel the heartbeat of Oman through its rich history, the scent of spices, and striking modern design.
Leaving the city behind, you head east. After a refreshing swim in the turquoise waters of Bimmah Sinkhole, unwind on the peaceful Fins Beach. In the afternoon, explore the dramatic Wadi Tiwi – a lush valley filled with streams, rock pools, and hidden oases. Overnight stay in Tiwi.
In Sur, explore Oman's maritime heritage and visit traditional dhow shipyards where wooden boats are still crafted by hand. Then head deep into the Wahiba desert by 4x4: golden dunes, a magical sunset, the warmth of a campfire, and the hospitality of Bedouins. A night under the stars you'll never forget.
You continue your journey into the cool mountain region of Jebel Akhdar. In Birkat Al Mouz, stroll through palm groves and ancient ruins. Then set out on the “Three Village Walk”, a scenic hike through centuries-old mountain villages, rose terraces (in season), and dramatic valleys. Overnight stay in Nizwa.
In the morning, visit the famous livestock market (on Fridays) and the traditional Nizwa Souq. Next, explore the imposing Nizwa Fort, standing proudly over the city. In the afternoon, dive into Oman's rich history at the modern “Oman Across Ages Museum.” An optional side trip to the UNESCO-listed Bahla Fort is also possible.
Today you'll hike the legendary Balcony Walk at Jebel Shams, where spectacular canyon views await. In the afternoon, visit Al Hamra, a traditional mud-brick village with authentic charm. In the evening, return to Muscat for your final overnight stay.
A boat trip takes you to the Daymaniyat Islands, a protected marine reserve teeming with coral reefs, tropical fish, and sea turtles. In the afternoon, enjoy your free time as you wish: unwind by the pool, visit a café, stroll along the beach, or treat yourself to a spa session. The choice is yours.
Depending on your departure time, there may still be time for a final stroll or to pick up some souvenirs. You return home with memories of breathtaking landscapes, heartfelt hospitality, and moments that will stay with you forever.
